There’s decent depth of fruit in the inky darkness of this Washington state contender. Black as it is, it reads a touch sweet, with strong vanillin oak and ripe blackberry flavors. Licorice and espresso accents, an even mouthfeel, and a moderate finish with pepper and toast wrap it up.
