The 2010 cellarmaster's is a bit lighter than their 2009. It has nectarine-like fruit but the finish is a bit short. Needs a bit more acid to balance it.

Served slightly chilled. This wine had delicious fruit flavors of pear and melon. Light-bodied and crisp with a balanced acidity that lends great definition to the fruit flavors in this wine. This is a very good riesling made in a style that is reminiscent to me of German rieslings. Some American rieslings are much too sweet for my taste but that was not the case at all with this wine. Great quality to price ratio. Recommended.

A little to sweet for me, but very good in comparison to other Rieslings from the area

Apples on the nose - great acidity, green apples throughout. there's some tropical fruit behind the acids - mangoes - and this comes through stronger through the mid palate. 1.7% residual sugar

Off dry with a smokey apricot nose. A nice spritz of acidity keeps it balanced and there are flavors of lemon grass that leads to a rich, toasty, golden finish - lots of crystallized honey on the finish. Very nice for such a cheap wine. A little sweet on the finish for me, but in the mouth the acidity kept it from being flabby. Paired with Kung Pao Chicken - very nice too.

A delightful example of sweet Washington Riesling. Rich with pear apricot and honey flavors. This little wine is sweet enough to have with dessert or serve it chilled on a hot summer evening.

Light straw in color, this Riesling offers floral aromas of honeysuckle and peach blossom. Flavors of peaches, tropical fruit and freshly squeezed lime juice with zippy natural acidity and a slight spritz from retained carbon dioxide make the aromas jump out of the glass. - WineryWinemaker: Kerry NortonAlcohol: 10%Total Acidity: 10.5/LpH: 2.9Residual Sugar: 60 g/L ** SOLD OUT **

Fresh apple, crushed stone, ginger and spices on the nose. Slightly sweet and supple, with the enticing peach and ginger flavors nicely framed by ripe, harmonious acidity. Round without being at all heavy. If only the wineryrsquo;s other offerings showed this sort of pliancy of texture.

At 1.6% residual sugar, it retains the impression of dryness on the palate, with tangy green citrus fruit flavors, and floral highlights in the nose. Itrsquo;s a fine choice to accompany summer salads and light sea foods.

The 1999 Riesling Cellarmasterrsquo;s Reserve offers delightful candied orange aromas and flavors. This off-dry, medium-bodied wine is silky-textured, well-balanced and immensely flavorful. Drink it over the next 5 years with spicy foods or as an apeacute;ritif.

Winemaker's Notes:

Columbia Winery's unique style of Riesling was the result of a happy accident. Years ago one of the small fermentors stopped working and left the wine at 6 percent sugar. When winemaker David Lake tasted the prematurely finished product, he found that the natural acidity in the wine created a low alcohol, crisp, delicate and refreshingly balanced Riesling, a crowd-pleasing favorite and one of Columbia Winery's most popular wines.
