Columbia Crest Merlot 03 Washington Columbia Crest 2003
Nose is chocolate, cherries, and prunes. Very fruity. On the mouth it is thick, almost but not quite syrupy. Chocolate cherries and cassis predominate, with just a little earth and bramble to save it from being a complete fruit bomb. Finish is short, with a bit of dry cocoa flavor.Add winemaker's notes
At Columbia Crest we pride ourselves on delivering handcrafted, superior-quality small-lot wines, as well as affordable everyday Washington wines. Our first release in 1984 started a tradition that has established us as one of America’s most popular and fast-growing wineries.

I always pick up a couple of Columbia Crest Merlots at the grocery store - this winery puts out some of the best of what I classify as "grocery store wines". Widely available, inexpensive, high quality, good tasting, very quaffable.
Pleasant nose of cherries and stewed fruits. Tart cherry and raspberry flavors with some tannins. Medium to long finish. Excellent value ( I paid $6 ).
