Columbia Crest Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
At Columbia Crest we pride ourselves on delivering handcrafted, superior-quality small-lot wines, as well as affordable everyday Washington wines. Our first release in 1984 started a tradition that has established us as one of America’s most popular and fast-growing wineries.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
Boy, you can sure see the difference between a Cab from WA and one from CA. This is a full-bodied wine, but it is not a "full frontal assault on your palate."There are some blackberry flavors, but that is pretty much it for fruit. I get some light earthiness, but nothing to bother me. Tannins are there and provide nice structure, Finish is remarkably smooth. US$12.99 at WIne Club in Santa Ana.
Lovely. Smooth and smokey with a hint of vanilla.
Great Cabernet for the price. One of Washingtons finest. Deep berry flavor, mildly smokey, cocoa, some rose petal hints and a beautiful lasting finish with well mild tannins. Horse heaven hills is one of my favorite wines.
My Rating:88. This wine has a lean body with a blackberry taste and little too much acid on the finish. The nose is long restrained elegant. The price of $ 11.99 is too high for this wine
Great red fruit on the nose......silky tannins incorpated to a luscious finish
nose of blackcurrant, black cherry, chocolate....full bodied, lush on the palatte....long finish
Finish is a bit sour and tannic. Nice nose.
