My rating 89: This wine received a handful of Oak chips! I wonder how it would taste without any Oak. Columbia crest please answer this one. My E-mail: Wolle@cfl. rr.com . Body lean and well balanced with nice fruit. Nose : A lot of Oak mixed with well balanced fruity flavors.
This is one of my favorite wines! It initially impressed me with its beautiful deep purplish color and very aromatic nose of blackberries, cola and vanilla, which were also distinct in the palate. This wine is full-bodied with smooth and well balanced acidity and strong but very round tannins and a flavorful attack of strawberries and cherries, which are deliciously followed by Dr. Pepper and vanilla notes and a long soft finish of chocolate, marzipan and oak. The combination of flavors usually associated with sweet wines and the powerful tannins and oak is a perfect marriage! This wine is excellent with steak.
Pleasantly surprised with this wine. A sort of Californian Bordeaux (Merlot, Cab Franc, Cab Sauvignon blend), the Cabernet Franc was the stand-out grape in the blend. I've found Columbia Crest wines to be rather hit or miss of late, but this one was a definite winner. Smooth and silky, with a nice finish, I served this at a recent event with some light hors d'oeuvres, but it's versatile enough to be a sipping wine, or paired with a great meal.

Aromas of fresh blueberries, anise and earth lead to firm and supple tannins on the palate. This red wine blend presents incredible depth, with layered flavors of candied nuts, licorice and dark chocolate that lead to a mocha finish featuring ample, sweet tannins.
Plump aromas of ripe cherry, red berry and jam fi ll the nose, followed by notes of luscious berry sweetness on the palate.
