Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Grand Estates 2010
At Columbia Crest we pride ourselves on delivering handcrafted, superior-quality small-lot wines, as well as affordable everyday Washington wines. Our first release in 1984 started a tradition that has established us as one of America’s most popular and fast-growing wineries.
Cheap for a reason
Fruity, not much structure. Good pizza wine or for a hearty stew.
Great for an everyday dinner wine.
Delicious deep berry flavor that lingers, a touch of oak, chocolate and great aroma
I'm a big fan of Columbia Crest & Chateau Ste. Michelle. Their wines are always spot-on for the variety or the blend in the bottle. This is juicy and darkly-fruited with blackberry & black currant at center stage. Evergreen notes dance in the background. A satisfying wine that offers super value.
Great for the price. Intense with tart berry notes and a hint of toasted vanilla flavor.
It is interesting to compare this 2010 Two Vines Cab to their previous efforts. This one lacks intensity of the 2008 and 2009. Plus, it is shorter on fruit. A simple wine. Some cherry in the nose and some cacao --- 84 rating..

Wine Spectator 100 Top Values of 2016 Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from vineyards located predominantly on the Horse Heaven Hills and the Wahluke Slope in the Columbia Valley. Vines are planted on south-facing slopes that provide excellent sun exposure for grape ripening, and protection from cold airflow during the winter months. Vineyards are 100% drip irrigation. This, combined with the low water-holding capacity of the soil, allow for precise control of the vines. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, grapes were crushed and then fermented 6–10 days. The wine barrel-aged in 74% older American and French oak barrels for approximately 11 months. The Wine Spectator in addition to naming a Top 100 Value scored it 91 pionts saying "Broad and generous, open-textured and inviting, offering cherry, currant and red plum flavors that swirl enticingly among fine-grain tannins and creamy oak on the finish."

Wisps of luscious, dark red fruits float out of the glass. Full-bodied and well-structured, especially for the price, this big wine boasts flavors of ripe currant, juicy plum and dark cherry with a nice amount of spice.
Exhibiting big, bold flavors, our Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon highlights these classic characteristics while softening the edges just enough to call attention to delicate aromas and fruit complexity. Armoas and flavors of black cherry, plum and spice on the mid-palate are complemented by smooth tannins on the finish.
