Much different style than the napa cabs I have been drinking lately. The only word that comes to mind right now is that they're (Washington wines) "heavier". Deeper somehow. This is a great cab, black currant, blackberry, black everything you can think of. Hints of licorice. Great! - Tasted at Marche` Bacchus 8/22/09
Finally had to pop my only bottle open for my birthday. Wine of the year indeed. Lovely, smooth, rich and just as a great cab should be. All in balance. Wonderful. I wish it weren't so scarce and expensive now.
I was very skeptical of this wine too, especially since it is priced so affordably (under $40). I think this is one of the best wine values I've ever seen! This big, rich Cabernet can stand up to California's "big boys" that charge well over $150 per bottle. Amazingly good wine - and not just for the price! If you held a blind tasting, you'd swear this wine was easily in the over $100 price range.
11/29/08 The wine has a dark rich color which was fitting us on this cold winter evening. The nose presented us clear notes of black cherry and spice. The initial taste was black cherry followed by a longer, buttery finish. Although a fan of drier wines, this wine is a nice departure. A good buy!
Yum! A nice, red wine with none of the harsh tannin overtones that make me think 'I'll have heartburn if I finish this glass!' The berry flavors are apparent and I like that, too. A little light on the chocolate overtones but, all in all, a very drinkable cabernet sauvignon.
I really liked this one. had it with the stuffed shells and molten lava cakes on Jamie's B-day
Absolutely amazing value for the price point, but hard to find. Solid fruit up front with a lingering cocoa finish - really wonderful stuff.
