The color of this wine is absolutely indicative of is massiveness - opaque dark purple/black core with a purple/ruby rim. The nose has a perfume of black fruits with crushed rocks and baking spices - very similar to a Bordeaux Claret but from Italy.... Andy Frieden. A Sagrantino wine from Umbria in Italy. 2004 Colpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco 750ml
Winemaker's Notes:
"A modern take on this increasingly important Italian fine wine style.Colpetrone's 2004 Sagrantino brims with dense briary and grilled pork and herbsausage notes, while the full palate's packed with luscious meaty, chunky fruitflavours that come from highly concentrated fruit and plenty of toasty Frenchbarriques. Drinking now till 2010, great with sausage casserole!" (David Berry Green - BBR Buyer)
