Colpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco Passito 2009

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

The color of this wine is absolutely indicative of is massiveness - opaque dark purple/black core with a purple/ruby rim. The nose has a perfume of black fruits with crushed rocks and baking spices - very similar to a Bordeaux Claret but from Italy.... Andy Frieden. A Sagrantino wine from Umbria in Italy. 2004 Colpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco 750ml

Massive herb and meat aspects, yet dark fruit still seem to penetrate. Very, very dry on the lips but a density that goes well with some serious meat dishes. Very nice wine.
