User Reviews for Col Solare Red Bordeaux Blend Columbia Valley
Add your reviewThis was the wine that started me on my love affair with Washington Bordeaux Blends. Exquisitely crafted, the wine is subtle yet powerful, dense, complex and extremely enjoyable. Cocoa powder is immediacies apparent on the nose along with black cherries the wine reminds one of a black forest cake. Beyond this there's pepper, graphite, minerals and clove. Tannins are assertive (in a good way).
Good, smoky fruit on this wine. - Tasted at Wine Spectator New World Wine Experience 2010

Winemaker's Notes:
Col Solare is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine with profound density, complex flavors and a supple texture. It is full-bodied, rich, and aromatic. Intense fruit character and mature tannins deliver uncompromising finesse and style. For each vintage, the winemakers' mission is to join two distinct cultures, Washington and Tuscan, new-world and old-world, to create a wine with concentrated flavors, aromatics and supple tannins that lead into a seductive, lingering finish.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of black cherry, currants, and blackberry blend with subtle notes of vanilla and milk chocolate. Tannins are rich and refined on the finish, a characteristic of Red Mountain fruit, with flavors of berries, black fruit, and cocoa.
