- As it usually is, this is the tightest and least expressive wine in the range with green apple, citrus and floral notes introducing big, powerful and muscular flavors that stop short of being robust or foursquare, all wrapped in a hugely long finish that doesn't quit because as soon as it seems to have stopped, it commences again in waves. A great wine in every respect.

- Steely, penetrating aromas of pineapple, apple and minerals; almost medicinal in its austerity. Then dense, fat and ripe but at the same time powerful, steely and backward. Conveys a drier impression today than the Meursault Perrieres. Not yet particularly complex, but this strongly minerally, layered wine offers great grip and aging potential. Coche noted that there were more rain showers around the village of Aloxe-Corton in '02 than in Meursault, which is one reason he prefers the Meursault Perrieres in this vintage.
