Coastal Vines Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Member Review by Seascape2204:

I love this wine--I'm always looking for delicious cheap reds to keep around for everyday meals, but I don't like sweetish wines. I think this one is just delicious--concentrated, not harshly acidic but not bland either, very pleasant flavor, maybe a slight bit sweet but not annoyingly so, just a CA kind of unavoidable warm-climate sweetness, I think. It's great, especially for a wine that's normally sold only to restaurants, which use it as a cheap house wine since some sources list it for $4. Other delicious cheap wines seem to get renamed and priced higher, like the lovely Salice Salentino (brand started with "T" but I can't remember it) that became Notarparnaro at three times the price after a few years, while an icky wine went under the old Salice Salentino label and price. The 2-buck Chuck people make this and many other cheap wines, but I like 2-buck Chuck, and I like this Coastal Vines one even better. Long live Bronco!

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
