Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Cloudy Bay has been the benchmark New Zealand wine, from the iconic New Zealand winemaker Kevin Judd, since its founding in 1985 as one of the first 5 wineries in Marlborough. The ultra-premium wines express the purity and intensity of fruit flavors naturally afforded by the top vineyard sites and maritime climate.
Excellent SUmmer wine, very good subtle capsicum without overdoing it, not to grassy and herbal, good peach and pineapple fruit flavours
Smooth pear mango fruit balanced sweet.
Love it, but with it can be expensive if you don't look. I've seen this anywhere from $15 to $30. It's good but perhaps not a great value unless you find it on sale near that $15 range.
Fresh, zesty green citrus and fruity!! It goes so well with my tuna nigiri!
External Reviews for Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc
Scented and summery, the 2008 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc has deliciously vibrant aromatics that infuse the tropical fragrance of fresh passionfruit and juicy pineapples with garden-fresh basil and the spiciness of crushed tomato leaves. The palate is long and succulent, combining exotic fruits with ripe, red capsicum and a twist of green olive... beautifully complemented by crisp natural acidity and a hint of lime zest.
Generosity is the defining word for the 2009 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Its aromatics encapsulate a broad spectrum of varietal flavors; tropical fragrances of guava and mango to ripe lime/citrus and sweet herbs. The palate also is juicy and voluminous, combining concentrated flavors with a mineral acidity that leaves a long, fresh, intense finish. There is a reason this remains the benchmark for Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. 89 points Wine Spectator: 'Light and appealing for its citrus character, with lemongrass and lime flavors that dance easily through the finish. Drink now.' (05/10)

"Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009 is a little anonymous on the nose. Faint scents of pebbles on a stony beach but little more. The palate is simple with ripe apple and a touch of gooseberry on the entry
