What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

A textural and full-bodied wine, Cloudy Bay Chardonnay combines New Zealand fruit vibrancy with Burgundian style. Packed full of citrus and stone fruit flavours with a savoury complexity, enhanced by judicious use of new oak, this is an intriguing and complex wine.

Reviews

Really love this sauvingon blanc. Very fruity, almost grapefruit.

Savory aromas of sesame biscuits and white mushrooms meld with the fragrance of ripe oranges and yellow plums, depicting the combination of wild yeast fermentation and vibrant Marlborough fruit. The palate is textural and generous with zesty citrus and nougat flavors, subtle toasty oak, and a long mineral finish.

Wine Tasting NotesAromas of poached pear and grapefruit are beautifully complemented by a svaoury complexity reminiscent of roasted cashews and oatmeal. The combination of "hands-off" winemaking and vibrant Marlborough fruit delivers a rich, textural palate with concentrated cirus and fig flavours, seamlessly integrated oak, and a persistent finish.

A tight, focused, ageworthy Chardonnay from a very well-regarded producer. Citrus fruits play against mixed nutty aromas, over a creamy texture laced with chalky mineralilty. Simply stunning.
