What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

A textural and full-bodied wine, Cloudy Bay Chardonnay combines New Zealand fruit vibrancy with Burgundian style. Packed full of citrus and stone fruit flavours with a savoury complexity, enhanced by judicious use of new oak, this is an intriguing and complex wine.

Reviews

From the most famous producer of Sauvignon Blanc in the world, this Chardonnay is pretty amazing white wine as well. The scent of pink grapefruit and lemon blossom is beautifully counterbalanced by smoky, savoury aromatics, reminiscent of roasted cashews and macadamia nuts. The palate is rich yet refined with a chalky texture supporting the delicious mineral-like complexity and creaminess derived from traditional winemaking techniques. Gentle fruit handling has produced a tightly structured, elegant wine that will age gracefully over the next six to ten years.
