Cloudline Pinot Noir Unspecified United States of America Oregon Oregon Pinot Noir Red Bottle-In Stock 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

On the nose, there is an immediate burst of bright, fresh red fruits, including strawberry and raspberry, followed by an earthy quality. On the palate, the wine has fine texture, soft tannins, good acidity and a strong core of fruit. It is a wine that offers immediate pleasure, on its own, or better yet, in the company of a delicious meal.

Cloudline Cellars represents a first for Dreyfus, Ashby—our own wine. Given our love for Pinot Noir and our long history developing Domaine Drouhin Oregon and other fine wines, it’s probably not surprising that we would choose Oregon’s Willamette Valley as the home for this exciting project. In 2002, the Drouhin Family of Burgundy created Cloudline Cellars. Already well known for Domaine Drouhin Oregon, the Drouhins wanted to offer an elegant, authentic Oregon Pinot Noir that would be approachable young and more widely available than the DDO wines. All fruit is sourced from low-yield vineyards in the Willamette Valley, and is vinified under the eye of consulting winemaker Véronique Drouhin-Boss, Cloudline has quietly become one of Oregon’s most successful brands. The 2013 Pinot Noir remains true to its reputation for high-quality and value. From the beginning, the Cloudline wines have been a hit with wine lovers in the U.S., and can now also be found in Brazil, Canada, Japan, Norway and Sweden.   Read less

Cloudline is deep ruby red, a sign of its classic Pinot Noir character. On the palate, the wine is soft and round, with a delightful core of cherries and red fruits. The structure is perhaps even a bit better than the much-admired 2005 Cloudline, and the overall fruit-forwardness makes for a wine that is thoroughly enjoyable now and for the next several years to come. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
