User Reviews for Clos Saint Julien 93js Premier

Winemaker's Notes:

"A wine with beautiful tannin texture and very refined mouthfeel. Full body, with integrated tannins. Precise and pretty. This is 60% Cabernet Franc in the blend...93" JamesSuckling.com 02/13 "From a microscopic vineyard owned by Catherine Papon-Nouvel, this blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot achieved a remarkable 15.4% natural alcohol. There is not a trace of new oak, despite the fact that it is from 100% new barrels at Clos Saint-Julien. Mineral-dominated, this dense purple wine has precision and remarkable freshness for a wine that is so big, rich and concentrated. Once the Cabernet Franc starts to show nuances, probably not for at least another 4 or 5 years, this could be one of the shockingly great wines of the vintage. Sadly, though, there is so little of it, most people will never have the chance to taste it....93-95" WA 05/11
