Clos Rougeard has been called the Cheval Blanc of the Loire so rich, aromatic, complex and fascinating are its Cabernet Franc reds. Expensive? Not once you taste it. Here is a description from Parker's The Wine Advocate: "The Poyeux saturates the palate with black fruit, an ore-like, ineffable minerality, and smoky, carnal depth. Very clear in fruit and striking in its mineral way, this displays abundant tannin, yet a generously juicy, satisfying finish."
