Clos Puy Arnaud 2010

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Always one of my favorite Cotes de Castillons this 35 acre vineyard is planted primarily on limestone soils. A blend of 70% Merlot 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon the 2010 was cropped at 24 hectoliters per hectare and attained 14.5% natural alcohol. Abundant Rhone-like notes of black raspberry licorice garrigue and lavender emerge in the aromatics but in the mouth the wine is pure Bordeaux in its rich black currant and black raspberry-like fruit intermixed with subtle oak in the background. This impressively full rich effort is capable of lasting 7-10 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Offers a friendly caressing feel with plum sauce and blackberry fruit inlaid cocoa and apple wood notes and a well-focused finish. Not big but defined and balanced. Drink now through 216. -JM Wine Spectator.
