Clos Fourtet Saint Émilion 2010
"Although this superb 2010 is built differently, it is as impressive as the extravagant 2009 and the prodigious 2005. A blend of 85% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Stephane Derenoncourt is the consulting winemaker. One can not say enough about what proprietor Philippe Cuvelier has accomplished at Clos Fourtet over the last decade turning a perennial underachiever into *one of the great wines of Bordeaux*.The inky/purple-hued 2010 displays a beautiful bouquet of incense, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, licorice and camphor. Full-bodied and opulent with more tannin and glycerin than the massive 2009, the 2010, while less sumptuous than the 2009, is a huge effort that is undoubtedly capable of lasting 30+ years."Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (95-97 pts.)*We will notify you on arrival summer 2013.*

Editorial Reviews for Clos Fourtet Saint Émilion
Plummy on the nose with notes of cocoa, currant, and tomato adding complexity, some bitter dandelion stem and an almost foxy edge to the jelly like fruit sets this apart – very soft in the mouth, good fruit lacks some focus, broad but without a center, short finish, (83-84)
Smoke, animal and black cherry nose. Kirsch, smooth, elegant, but a bit light. Spice and tannin finish. Very young.
Tasted June 2008: The first successful vintage after decades of often mediocre wines from this well-situated estate in Saint-Emilion, this Clos Fourtet 1989 is a hugely attractive wine, unquestionably of premier grand cru classé quality. Ripe garnet colour with an intense core, a classic, very shapely and noble bouquet, perfumed and nuanced, with beguiling finesse. In the mouth almost Medoc-like: rich, extremely refined, elegant, with a lovely texture and perfect weight, nuances of ripe plums and lovely integrated oak. A dry, slightly austere, lingering aftertaste. A perfect wine to drink with fine food. Drink now.

Moderately dense mulberry red with a purple rim, Clos Fourtet '06 has a nose that is closed yet ultraclean and fresh. The taste is lovely, with pure red fruits, fresh and alive. The wine finishes with a very firm tannic grip. Tasted from barrel April '07. By early '09, Clos Fourtet boasts a stunning, expressive nose with nuances of red fruits and smoky, perfectly integrated oak. On the palate, it offers noteworthy harmony and balance, with fine-grained tannins adding definition. This is an excellent and classic St. Emilion. Robert Parker 91.
A blend of 80% Merlot and the rest equally split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this wine has a dense purple color and a beautifully sweet nose of blackberry and blueberry fruits intermixed with acacia flowers, charcoal, and some subt... Clos Fourtet has produced a succession of brilliant wines since 2003. While the 2006 may not equal the prodigious 2005, it possesses a dark ruby/purple hue as well as sweet notes of creme de cassis, s... Robert Parker. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Clos Fourtet 6000ml
Schwarz-Rubinrot.
This continues to be the most compelling wine I have ever tasted from Clos Fourtet. A sumptuously rich, heady, full-bodied effort, it exhibits an inky/ruby/purple color, a gorgeous texture, tremendous opulence, power, and concentration, and loads of ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
