Winemakers Notes
"A beautifully crisp and fragrant wine, with barrel fermentation providing anextra layer of complexity and tropical, fruit-salad aromas. Grapes arefermented in barrels, 25% new, and then aged in oak for 11 months beforebottling. The Semillon imbues a waxy roundness, the Sauvignon crisp acidity andthe Muscadelle a beguiling fragrance. Delicious as an aperitif, its fruity, mineral dryness also works well with scallops or white fish, and cuts easilythrough the richness of mackerel or tuna. A personal favourite" (Alun Griffiths MW- BBR Wine Director)
Editorial Reviews
Spicy green herb tones join a rich, succulent cantaloupe tone on the nose that rides over the smoky soil tones of Graves that are accented by a touch of oak which also contributes some honied notes. This combines lush fruit on the palate with a nice acid spine, which allows the rich Semillon fruit to spread across the palate while the inner mouth aromatics are dominated by the herb and grapefruit notes of the Sauvignon Blanc. A bit of smoky oak breaks up the finish which offers rich pink grapefruit tones with a touch of sage and Thai basil on the finale. 91pts

Reviews for 2006 Vintage
Honey and pear aromas, with some herbal notes. Very nice. Flavors are light but supple and firm, there's some creaminess, good sturdy fruit, lemon curd, a hint of grapefruit, and a smooth finish.
Beautiful golden yellow hue. Whiff of sulfur, but once past that you get peaches, limes, mango and pineapples. Very nice oily mouthfeel, and well balanced. A little oak gives the wine some spice, but theres a herbaceous character that dominates that. Very nice.
On the nose smelled like an overripe California Chard, but in the mouth opens up with honey and lemon. The finish has a sharp rising acidity that's perfectly offset by the creamy smooth mouthfeel.
Very herbal and floral on the nose with a little bit of grapefruit and cooked salmon. The mouth is dominated by buttery spices and a strong presence of acidity. More fruit towards the finish, which is drawn out.
