The 2009 Laurel, tasted from a barrel sample, is a more masculine, brooding effort with aromas of minerals and black fruits that play it close to the vest. On the palate it has superb volume, great focus, impeccable balance, and a lengthy finish. In ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Josh Raynolds (IWC): (75% garnacha, 20% syrah and 5% cabernet sauvignon, aged for 16 months in large and small used French oak casks): Saturated ruby. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, blueberry, incense and star anise, with a floral overtone. Sweet, palate- staining black and blue fruit flavors are silky and polished, becoming weightier and spicier with air. Sweet, gently tannic focused, finishing with floral and mineral nuances. Give this wine a little air of you plan on drinking it any time soon. (Sep 2012)
