Food Pairings for Clos du Val Pinot Noir Napa Valley Carneros
Bright cherry fruit and spice aromas. Very dry, high acid wine with deep black fruit, biting tannins, chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Spicy with a nice sweetness to it.
Nose is very oak-inspired, with cranberries and currants. Nice mouthfeel on the attack, the tannins are fairly soft and give a nice backbone to the black fruits in the middle. Agree w/ bwakus22 that it's not too complex, though I think the balance and execution produce a very drinkable wine that would pair well with a variety of foods. For the price point I think it's average.
Classic California Cabernet style. New world with a fruit forward palate and aromas of cherry and raspberry. Slight amount of tannins and slightly acidic. Overall not a bad buy from the area and I would revisit this wine and try other vintages.
Chocolate caramel on the nose with hints of ripe black fruits and coffee beans. Strong fruit acidic and taste of salts. Coats the mouths with tannins and finishes surprisingly soft.
I bought this at World Market for $9.00. Tart cherry and a clean finish adds a nice texture to the wine. Sweet deal. I would buy this one again.
I had planned on leaving this bottle in the cellar for a couple of years but decided on a whim to drink it the other night. I have to say that I was a little disappointed. While I'm sure it might've mellowed a bit with more age, I found it to be awfully tannic and one-dimensional. The flavor was fine but not complex in any way. Overall I'd stay away - there are much better wines to be had for the price point.
Drank on 3-10-11 and was above average. A little deep with few high notes. Heavy cherry and currant flavor.

Deep ruby core with a light garnet rim. Rich aromas of chocolate and red fruit provide a framework on the nose with notes of raspberry fresh flowers and roasted spices to balance. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins and acidity that lingers. Flavors of rose tobacco leaf and black fruit emerge on the mid palate as the creamy texture coats the finish. A delightful wine this should be consumed over the next 10 years. Jeff Loo.

A bit burly in tannins, with a dry, sandpapery mouthfeel. But that doesnrsquo;t stop the blackberry, black cherry and currant fruit from shining through, or put a damper on the sweet, toasty oak notes. Doesnrsquo;t feel like an ager, so the tannins are here to stay, but a good steak will wrestle them into submission.
A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2007 Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon 375ml
Characteristic of Clos Du Val's world-class Cabernet Sauvignon since 1972, this latest vintage continues the winery's tradition of balanced, complex and elegant wines. Deep garnet-black in color, the 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of black fruit, complex spices, and hints of toast. Rich and intense flavors of black fruit, and wood spices fill the mouth. The wine has a powerful, solid middle palate and lingering finish. Expect this Cabernet Sauvignon to age gracefully for an additional 5-10 years. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
An ideal growing season in 2007 resulted in an outstanding vintage for Clos Du Val Pinot Noir. Deep red in color with a hint of purple, this wine has a complex nose of raspberry, strawberry, black cherry and spice, with a hint of vanillin. Fresh, spicy fruit flavors characterize the mouth, with notes of raspberry appearing again on the palate, joined by hints of black cherry, cloves and cinnamon. This Pinot Noir is rich and full bodied, with soft tannins and good acidity. The wine's balance ensures it will cellar well for an additional 3-5 years. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
Wine Tasting Notes This Pinot Noir displays a deep ruby color that is darker than most Pinot Noir. Aromas of dense black spices, dark black cherry and blackberry pervade, with a hint of vanillin incorporated in the nose. Our Pinot Noir displays flavors of intense dark fruit, black spice and well integrated oak. It is a rich, complex wine balanced with good acidity and a lovely, long finish. This Pinot Noir typifies the Carneros region and our trademark style of elegance, complexity and balance.
