This is one of the worst wines I have ever tried to drink. It was not, in fact, drinkable. I have never returned a bottle of wine in my life but if I remembered where I bought it I would certainly return it. My bottle had a very bitter and stale taste; almost as if it had been sitting open for two or three weeks.

Winemaker's Notes:

91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): Medium red. Exotic aromas of red berries, sandalwood, pepper and garrigue Dense, supple and chewy but also impressively vibrant and perfumed in the mouth, with sharply delineated flavors of pepper and spice. Almost shockingly showy and aromatic today. But the wine's slightly edgy tannins suggest that it needs at least a few years of additional bottle aging. (Jan/Feb 2004)
