Clos du Chapitre Viré-Clessé 2008

Member Review by zufrieden:

A bright golden colour, this Macon wine has pear, butterscotch and a hint of lime on the nose with a quite dry, elegant entry. The palate receives muted pear, apple and diacetyl notes. Finish is medium and just a touch warm. A very decent Burgundian Chardonnay at its peak (or just beyond it). Drink up. 87 points.

A dry red wine that's technically classified as a Vin de Pays des Gaules - an area within Beaujolais. This is an everyday Gamay that's easy to love for so many reasons: for starters, the fruit, the freshness, and the accessibility.
