User Reviews for Clos du Bois Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend Alexander Valley Fleur d'Alexander

Winemaker's Notes:

Along the heavily graveled benchlands in the warmer northern end of the valley grows Cabernet Sauvignon that is remarkably supple, with rich fruit flavors blackberry, dried herbs, olive, bay leaf - and a lush, round tannin structure. Cabernets from this region can often be bottled 100%, without blending in other varietals such as Merlot to tame overly aggressive tannins.

Tasting Notes:

Pretty, assertive aromas are a signature of Sauvignon Blanc, and this wine has them in spades. Refreshing primary aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry and honeysuckle are backed by charming notes of mineral, creme brulee and toast. Crisp, palate-cleansing acidity and juicy fruit flavors mark the palate, where nuances of citrus and pear mingle with hints of nuts and toast before a round, smoky finish.
