Clos de la Vieille Eglise Cotes de Castillon 2002

This falls under the category "you get what you pay for." For this price, you get an average table wine to drink with food. I would not drink it alone as the finish has some bitterness. Definitely not one for a 'pop and pour', it is awful at that time. Amazing how much it changes after 1 hr of sitting in my glass. The pluses: nice ruby color, the nose is of cassis, candy and some rose petals. Beginning palate has luscious fruit, mid-palate brought out moderate tannins, the finish has just the nice heat but has the bitterness. I wouldn't mind drinking it, but for this quality, I'd go for a Chateau Michel de Vert, which is cheaper and brings me the same satisfaction.
