Cline Mourvedre Rose 2016

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This smells meaty and slightly funky, all leathered up and ready to ride. Burning rubber, oil and grease, exhaust fumes and spicy black fruit; I name thee Evil Rider. Bright on entry, this does show a little sweetness to the blueberry, black plum and cherry flavors. Round and fairly lush in style, it maintains a firm base of acidity that draws the wine across a rather long finish. Decidedly plummy in nature and looking good for BBQ duty. 89pts

I like the aroma on this - interesting creamy oak notes, strawberries, kiwi. Nice umami. The body is fruit acidity centric, though fairly low impact. Nice stone fruit in the finish.

This has to be my favorite Rose ever. I'm no afficianado, but love the flavor and the dryness. Most rose's are way too sweet for me. Cheers Cline!

Liked this! It's pretty full-bodied for a rose, and the perfect choice for a red-drinker who wants some complexity in a wine for the warmer months.

This wine is great, particularly the 2006 which even the winery doesnt have available anymore. Buy it from the one vendor who does have it. Wonderful fresh nose, medium bodied, stone fruit and strawberry on palate, light finsish with soft/no tannin. This is no white zin. Great summer wine.
