Packed with luscious cherry, raspberry and blackberry fruits, but donrsquo;t be surprised: this full-bodied red jam-master is delightfully silky with a dry, lingering finish. Ancient vines, labelled OV or ldquo;old vines, rdquo; denotes that the grapes come from matured vines mdash; usually a minimum of 40 years old mdash; and offer a greater depth and richness in the wines produced. This is a big red to be paired with red or game meats.

Ripe, with spicy cherry, raspberry jam and complex earthy notes. Firms up on the finish, with sufficient tannins to merit short-term cellaring. Drink now through 2006.
