Cline Cellars Viognier Sonoma County 2012
Very nice bottle of California North Coast viognier. Nice floral notes, apricot, light touch of lemon and some weight on the mid-palate. Excellent alternative to the usual suspects (chard, sauv blanc).
Great nose of mango...pretty sweet on the palette with some great tropical fruit flavors...
delicious stone fruits, a bit tropical, definitely enough body to stand up to heavier fish
Spicy, very fruity and floral. Nice - entered via my iphone
This is my favorite go to wine for weekday dinners and when I just want a glass of something yummy. Excellent value for the price
Stone fruit flavors, such as apricots and peaches. Pairs with turkey or chicken (e.g., drier white meats) with herbs along with a side of wild rice. Because it is full-bodied and flavorful, this wine is also an excellent match for Mediterranean stews and food with heat (e.g., Thai curry or spicy Mexican dishes).
Had this with scallops and REALLY liked it. Don't generally like white wines, but this had a great nose and wonderful freshness.

Light yellow. Ripe melon and peach on the nose and palate, with subtle spice and honey notes in the background. Fleshy and open-knit, with good finishing cling but a touch of heat. Plenty of fruit here but I'd like more vibrancy.
From the first sniff to your last sip, the Cline 2012 Viognier will definitely put you in the mood for spring. When you first open the bottle, you will be pleasantly assaulted by melon, pineapple, citrus and floral scents. You can almost feel a warm breeze gently blowing nearby. The color is deep and rich, somewhere between honey and apple juice. This wine is surprisingly heavy on the tongue. It is also low on acidity, but has a very lively flavor. Lemon, apricot, pineapple and a hint of smoke make this a delightful treat as an apértif with mild cheeses, or a fruity pairing for Asian dishes. I recommend Thai food or a shrimp curry boullaibase.
Cline’s 2012 Viognier (100% unoaked Viognier) possesses excellent peach and apricot fruit, light to medium body, good purity and a refreshing style.
The Oakley ranch, situated 40 miles east of San Francisco, is home to Cline s Ancient Vines - some of the oldest and most rare grapevines in California that range in age from 80 to 120 years old.
It is difficult to find inexpensive Viognier, but Cline Cellarsrsquo; 2010, while not quite as interesting as their Pinot Gris, is certainly an authentic Viognier. Notes of white peach, apricot jam, honeysuckle and assorted tropical fruits emerge from this fresh, light to medium-bodied white along with crisp underlying acidity. At this price, itrsquo;s a steal. Moreover, there are 25,000 cases available.
CaliforniaCline Cellars Viognier offers a fine reward for the white wine lover seeking to venture beyond Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. The Viognier grape varietal is most famous in Condrieu, in the northern Rhone of France, but California is producing some outstanding wines at a fraction of the price of Condrieu. In a recent Wall Street Journal column on American Viogniers, Cline Cellars was judged Best Value and described as:...elegant and peachy, with just the right amount of mouthfeel. We find this California Viognier is a true white wine gem!Cline Cellars Viognier comes from grapes handpicked in three growing regions of California. Solano County fruit is blessed with plentiful sunshine to yield maximum flavors. Mendocino grapes contribute to the wine's fullness of body. Cline's Carneros vineyards were chosen for their long, cool growing season. The soil there is rich with minerals and rarely needs irrigation, and the vines are cooled by coastal breezes. Long hang-time results in superb concentration of fruit, with no oak to interfere with the natural beauty of Viognier.Cline Cellars Viognier is deep yellow-gold in color with a gorgeous nose of peaches, apricots, orange blossoms and honeysuckle. It is full-bodied with a rich mouthfeel and flavors of peach, apricot and mango. Well balanced to enjoy over the next 3-5 years, the wine is long and rich on the finish.Enjoy Cline Cellars Viognier as an aperitif wine and with grilled snapper with fruit salsa, fried oysters, stir-fry vegetables and spicy Thai dishes.
Tasty peach, apricot and citrus peel notes are light-bodied and refreshing, yet still balanced with focus and concentration. Drink now.
