Editorial Reviews for Cline Cellars Syrah Sonoma Coast
This smells of olive, briar, smoke and dried berry fruit, with a hint of prune. A little sweet on entry, but the acidity is well matched, lending this an easy, clear and bright feel. The flavors are red-fruited, a bit red currant and red cherry toned with some stemmy, briary accents in a rather simple presentation. Not a lot of wood, just pure, easy to drink Syrah fruit. This is actually pretty delicious. Just goes to show you that sometimes less really is more. Turns a bit sticky on the finish, but still nicely fruity without being footy. 86pts
Smoky, spicy, perfect for barbecue
A little olivey and fruity on the nose. A more simple and easy-to-enjoy Syrah that I can really get into.
excellent ... peppery and full. Great on it's own or with a big fat steak and fries....maybe even steak and eggs!!!
On the nose, floral notes, strawberries and red currant. On the palate, strawberries, red currant, cranberry, hints of pomegranate, tea and sassafras, and very subtle meatiness. There is a bit of an apple peel tart edge, and on the finish, a hint of pepper. Medium bodied with a moderate finish. Went well with a grilled tenderloin.
Unfolds with spicy food.
Deep color, medium plus body oak, alcohol, bacon leather and black pepper nose. Good acidity, modest tannins and medium finish that ends dry. Not super generous. Could benefit from more fruit and a cleaner more focused taste. Best with food. Good value $9.99
Home run for an inexpensive Syrah. Plummy, round, harmonious balance of fruit and acid. 13.5% alcohol claimed: not off the chart. Totally satisfying quaff and remarkable value. We have been buying by the case.

Wine Tasting NotesDark, rich and extremely flavorful, this wine offers deep plum and cherry notes accented with aromas and flavors of vanilla and coffee. This Syrah is concentrated in flavor but tannins are moderate creating a very smooth mouth feel. This is our most flavor-intense Syrah and is one of the most concentrated wines that we make at Cline. The combination of tannin, acid, fruit and great mouth feel come together to create a balanced and robust wine.
Syrah is a fantastic grape to work with in the cellar. The deep red-purple color explodes and fascinates each time it is poured into a glass. Its origins stem from the Rhône Valley. The cracked blac
The cracked black pepper aromas complement the black cherry fruitiness of this vintage and make it a great match for grilled Salmon and sautéed vegetables served over pasta. Aged for 10 months on a dark toasted French oak (35% new), which provides a wonderful deep and rich butterscotch characteristic. Notes from the producer's website.
