1st Faint, mellow floral, in fact a beautiful nose. Heavy taste in comparison to the delicate aroma, rose, faint green pepper, a little bitter. 2nd Beautiful floral nose, more pronounced. Taste does not match the nose, bitter overtones, peach, pear apricot and apple. Picked early?

    Winemaker's Notes:

Cline Cellars 2007 Pinot Gris Sonoma Coast Harvest Date: September 6- 8 Alcohol: 14.0% Brix at Harvest: 23.6 Total Acidity: .73 g/100ml Final pH: 3.38 Residual Sugar: .20 % Release Date: February, 2008 Vineyards: The Pinot Gris grapes come from our Sonoma Coast vineyards located in the Petaluma Gap. This cool growing location yields Pinot Gris with delicate peach, pear and apple flavors. Fermentation and Aging The grapes used for Cline Pinot Gris were de-stemmed and transferred directly to our tank press where the skins and solids were separated from the juice. The juice was then pumped to a temperature controlled, chilled, stainless-steel tank where it settled for twenty-four hours. The extremely low solids juice was then racked to a fermenting tank, a pure wine yeast was added and the juice fermented at low temperatures to preserve the natural flavors and freshness of the grapes. Winemaker’s Comments Refreshing and approachable, our Pinot Gris has exquisite flavors of peach, pears and apricots with delicate apple. A nice bright acidity and fresh fruit are enhanced by not using oak in the winemaking process. Enjoy this wine with light fare such as foie gras, quiche & butte
