Cline Cashmere Gsm California Sonoma Coast 2010
We initially created this blend as an auction lot for the Hospice du Rhone held in Paso Robles each year. Cashmere is a very flavorful, smooth wine offering big cherry, raspberry and chocolate notes with hints of cracked black pepper and plum. 63% Grenache, 22% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre.
A very nice, easy drinking California Rhone-style blend. Though the percentages of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre are not listed, It's obvious that Grenache and Syrah are the big players here. Immediately after opening the bottle, I was a bit taken aback by the agressive nose. Strong alcohol and bright red fruits dominate. I decided to let it sit for a few before drinking. After about 30 minutes of opening up, it was a much more pleasant wine, probably due to its youth. Pleasant aromas of earth and red berry on the nose. On the palate, the Grenache sings with the perfect amount of black pepper to compliment the rich fruit of the Syrah. Overall, a very well balanced and easy drinking Rhone blend. Definitely a steal for the money! Highly recommended!
Very nice blend. Leg it breath to fully enjoy. Want to compare to other years.
