Cline Cashmere California 2015
The additional mourvedre (53%) shows through in this vintage with a good tannic bite. My preference would be for something more in the 20% range.Add winemaker's notes

OOOOOO so nice. Aptly named. I'll be drinking more of this wine.
My rating 86: Strange mixture with too much sweet taste in it. Nose is flowery. It is not a Rhone wine. Is that made for women who don't like firmer wines?
Cashmere is a very flavorful, smooth wine offering big cherry, raspberry and chocolate notes with hints of cracked black pepper and plum. ~ The Winery ~
A very nice, easy drinking California Rhone-style blend. Though the percentages of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre are not listed, It's obvious that Grenache and Syrah are the big players here. Immediately after opening the bottle, I was a bit taken aback by the agressive nose. Strong alcohol and bright red fruits dominate. I decided to let it sit for a few before drinking. After about 30 minutes of opening up, it was a much more pleasant wine, probably due to its youth. Pleasant aromas of earth and red berry on the nose. On the palate, the Grenache sings with the perfect amount of black pepper to compliment the rich fruit of the Syrah. Overall, a very well balanced and easy drinking Rhone blend. Definitely a steal for the money! Highly recommended!
Very nice blend. Leg it breath to fully enjoy. Want to compare to other years.

Blended from undisclosed grape varieties, this wine offers a myriad of citrus fruit, peach, vanilla and honey flavors.
Offers a rowdy mix of bay leaf, berry, road tar, fresh-turned earth and cedary tobacco leaf flavors, accented by a note of grilled meat. Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2021.
A wine I have liked a lot in the past is their Rhone Ranger blend of Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache and Petite Sirah, the 2011 Cashmere. This is not up to the level of several previous examples, but it is medium-bodied and attractive, with pepper, raspberry and a hint of herbaceously tinged cherry fruit. Drink it over the next year.
Pure and supple, this is easy to enjoy for its caressing tannins and savory plum and wild berry flavors. Good length. Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2018.
A stunning value, the 2011 Cashmere is a 47,000-case blend of 35% Mourvedre, 24% Syrah, 23% Grenache and 18% Petite Sirah aged six months in oak. This knock-out red is a California version of an exuberant Cotes du Rhone with lots of pepper, black currant, raspberry, forest floor and underbrush characteristics as well as rich, medium-bodied, juicy, succulent flavors with plenty of texture and plushness. Enjoy it over the next several years.
