My Rating 87: I'm not a fan of white wines! This has a nice nose of Apple aroma which also shows up in the taste. The body is dry as it should be . The wine overall very drinkable. Price was good at Costco. On sale for under $ 7.-

Clifford Bay has become my go to Sauvignon Blanc, as I am recovering Kim Crawford addict. Hailing from the renowned Awatere Valley, adding tropical flavors along with crisp and smooth minerality. This wine has room-filling aromas of guava, grapefruit and hints of moist grass. On the palate this wine's bursts with flavors of tropical and citrus fruits and has a balanced amount of mouth watering acidity. More on the "guava-side" of sauvignon blancs, this one has become one of my daily go-to's. Enjoy.

The Clifford Bay Sauvignon Blanc (Awatere Valley) 2009 is an okay Riesling but I expected more from a Marlborough wine. The alcohol content (13%) seems to overpower the subtle flavors. 86 pts

89/100 points. Pale yellow in color all the way to the rim. Nice bouquet of earth, lemongrass, and light notes of orange. A very pleasant texture that envelops the mouth. Flavors of passion fruit and a hint of the childhood flavor of tropical punch; a pine/evergreen taste on the back end. Very refreshing and balanced. Mediocre ending that falls short of the great beginning. Good buy. Something I would serve to friends.

My first Sauvignon Blanc from NZ. I'm hooked! Citrusy and tropical with zing.

Nice quince, pink gfruit aromas with a down played vibrancy on the palate. Not an overload of puckerness-zing like many Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs. I like that. A little blue stone mineral nip at the finish. Nice, will buy again.

The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc has intense aromas of fresh grass, hay, gooseberry and pineapple chunks. There's a good concentration of passion fruit and fresh herbs on the medium bodied palate with crisp acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2013. Either someone has their calculations wrong or this winery is selling its wine into the US well below the New Zealand recommended retail prices, because if the prices I've been given are correct then this pair from Clifford Bay offers amazing value!

Fresh and appealing, but definitely on the green side of the Sauvignon Blanc spectrum. This medium-bodied wine features pungent sweaty and grassy aromas, as well as leafy, green-tomato flavors.

Plenty of zingy lime peel notes mingle with grapefruit, melon and lemon flavors on a light body. Therersquo;s a dash of herbal and mineral accents on the finish. Drink now.
