Currant and red cherry on the nose with a touch of oak. Smooth and nice. Flavors of black and red cherry with currant, cassis, vanilla, sweet blackberry juice. Nice acid. Smooth and easy drinking. 87 pts. 5/10/13 at VeloVino

This is a delicious red wine that is medium bodied and well structured. This is the perfect food wine with chicken or red meat dishes. I purchased the wine at the Clif Bar winery where the wine is discounted at $5 a bottle. This is an amazing price for this wine that is selling elsewhere for as much as three times as much.

Vintage: 2005 01/31/2011

This is a big, hot wine. There is sufficient fruit and spice but the oak is just a touch overpowering and the tannins need to be a little more gripping for this style of wine to really work for me. Overall a good not great bottle of zin based wine.
