Made in a refreshing aperitif style, Clayhouse Sauvignon Blanc exhibits a bouquet of starfruit, green pear, honeydew melon and grapefruit, with a hint of grass. There's a touch of minerality that enhances the floral notes contributed by the Musque clone, and the wine finishes with a creamy mouthfeel (from sur lie fermentation and aging) and mouthwatering acidity. - WineryHarvest Date(s): August 31-October 1, 2010Harvest Brix: 21.5-23.8 degreespH: 3.29Total Acidity: 7.1 g/lAlcohol: 13.0%Oak Age: NoneBottling Date: February 22-23, 2011Case Production: 2,500CLOSURE TYPE: Stelvin screw cap

Here's a nice, refreshingly clean Sauvignon Blanc that shows a lot of class for the price. It's basically dry, with a honeyed finish to the green melon, golden mango and Asian pear flavors. There's just a touch of tart green gooseberry for complexity. - S.H.

A bit on the sweet side, with flavors of lemonade, pineapple juice and vanilla. But it's balanced with crisp acidity. Fine with ham, fruit salad, Chinese food. - S.H.

Clayhouse Sauvignon Blanc exhibits a bouquet of orange blossom, pineapple, lemon grass, peach and hints of guava. Theres a touch of minerality that enhances the slightly floral notes contributed by the Musque clone. The blend includes 7% floral-enhancing Chenin Blanc to boost floral character, and 2%.
