Nice red blend from the central coast consisting of zin, petite sirah, malbec, cab sauv, syrah and petit verdot. Spice and dark fruit on the nose. Not overly jammy but a good amount of dark berries and subtle tobacco with medium to light tannin.

Enjoyed it with a charred artichoke oozing with garlic and olive oil. Delicious with a garlic mushroom cheese risotto dish. Easy drinking, love it @ our casual neighborhood eatery. Fruity & jammy on the front & back that carries nicely. Very little decanting needed. Supple cherry. (1/15/13 addendum) have gone thru a couple bottles to find inconsistencies with how much decanting needed/alcohol content. Some have been more watery in body. Had to knock down to 3.5stars...

Feb-Mar 13 , blah. Runny, unstructured, alcohol taste. Disappointing after a good first bottle.

2008 Clayhouse Wines Adobe Red: Deep ruby color; pleasant, ripe red fruit aroma, a bit on the haunting side, medium depth; medium bodied, textured and rounded on the palate, with some sweetness; dryish, over threshold residual sugar, blaanced; medum red fruit flvors, some chalk; medum finish, simple afteraste.

The Adobe Red is a proprietary Zinfandel-based blend with effusive aromas of cherry spice, blackberry and pepper, with hints of brambles and plum. Cherry/berry flavors dominate on the palate.
