Clava Sauvignon Blanc Viã±a Quintay Casablanca Valley Chile 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

From three independent enclaves in the cool Casablanca Valley, this is a finedemonstration of the blending ability of master craftsman, Alvaro Espinoza, oneof Chile's greatest, certainly most acclaimed, winemakers. With 40% of theblend having been stirred on its lees and a minute percentage having beenexposed to barrel ageing, this is an incredibly complex Sauvignon Blanc. Thecitric and the tropical are harmoniously married, the acidity is fresh andclean and the French yeast seems to have lent a flinty stone-fruit charm thatrecalls some of the finer vineyards of the Loire Valley. (Simon Field MW, BBR Buyer)

GIving this an extra glass on the rating for the nose alone. The grapefruit is so direct it made me step back. Really impressive and delicious with other citrus behind it.
