Clarendon Hills is a small family run winery based in Clarendon, South Australia. Dense, deep and beautifully focused. A blast of red fruits, from cherry to Santa Rosa plum, zips along, carried by mouthwatering acidity and superrefined tannins. An open-textured wine with breathtaking purity of flavor and extraordinary length. Best from 2008 through 2020.
One of McLaren Valersquo;s most astonishing Syrahs is Clarendon Hillsrsquo; amazing 2004 Syrah Hickinbotham. Itrsquo;s inky/blue/purple hue is accompanied by aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, smoked meats, melted licorice, coffee beans, graphite, and bacon fat. Extremely full-bodied, powerful, and rich, with moderately high tannin, huge structure as well as massive concentration and intensity, but a sense of elegance, balance, and equilibrium, it should be cellared for 2ndash;3 years, and drunk over the following two decades.
Ripe in flavor, with a tangy balance to the plum and berry flavors, mingling with touches of pepper and citrus as the finish persists impressively. Best from 2008 through 2018.
Inky black-ruby. High-pitched, assertive aromas of blackberry, cassis, raw meat and cracked pepper, with a strong note of candied licorice. Bright and brisk on the palate, but with plenty of weight and texture. Intense flavors of kirsch and roasted coffee. Deep, powerful and heavily extracted on the long, supple finish.
