Clarendon Hills Grenache Clarendon Kangarilla Vineyard 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review From another ancient vineyard composed of sandy soils overlaying clay, the 2004 Grenache Kangarilla is a big, up-front, exotic, fruit-dominated effort displaying loads of mountain berries, blackberries, white pepper, herbs, and spice. While not the most complex of these Grenaches, it is a lush, fleshy, beautifully-textured example to enjoy over the next 8-10 years.

Tight, smoothly polished and bursting with raspberry, blackberry, plum and sweet spice flavors that emerge with disarming simplicity but just expand on the palate, finishing seamless and beautifully balanced to last and last. Drink now through 2012.

Dense purple. Explosive aromas of strawberry and black cherry liqueur, candied plum fresh rose, Indian spices and licorice. Lush, concentrated and ridiculously deep in sweet, liqueur-like red and dark berry flavors. The palate-saturating fruit shows remarkable depth as well as striking clarity. Bright acidity perks up the sweet finish, which seems to build forever. Lovely wine, with an almost surreal display of fruit.

Ripe and distinctive. Spot-on wild blackberry flavor at the center, with all the floral and spicy attributes smoothly integrated. The finish sails on and on against a polished texture. Drink now through 2016.

From sandy soils and a gentle northern exposure, the sexy 2004 Grenache Old Vines Kangarilla Vineyard offers notions of sweet red and black fruits intermixed with licorice, Provencal herbs, spice box, and exotic fruit. This sumptuous, plush effort po... Robert Parker. A Grenache wine from South Australia in Australia. 2004 Clarendon Hills Grenache Old Vines Kangarilla Vineyard 750ml
