Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

Ruby red color verging towards garnet. The bouquet is intense, fruit-forward, spicy and floral with hints of red berry fruits enriched by delicate spicy notes. Warm, soft and very well balanced on the palate; structured with soft tannins and long aftertaste. Service: Open an hour before pouring and serve at 18°C (64,4° F) in large crystal wine glasses. Bottles should be kept in a horizontal position, far from light sources and protected from both extremes and changes in temperature. Ideal companion of roasted and stewed meat, game and mature cheese.

The wine officially got its name In the mid-1900s, when Alberto Piccolomini d’Aragona wed Elda Ciacci, countess of the property who oversaw its winemaking operations. Giuseppe Bianchini inherited the estate in 1985, where he upheld traditions while updating techniques and operations. His children Paolo and Lucia now oversee production. These highly regarded wines are produced with organic and sustainable cultivation, preserving the truest expressions of the grapes.  Read less
