Dry tannins and great concentration are followed by sweet fruits, damson juice and a rich core of powerful tannins. This intensity is lightened by the sweetness of black currants, but ultimately this impressive wine is dry. - R.V. Medium ruby. High-toned, rather spirity nose offers pepper, herbs, nuts and a whiff of furniture polish. Very ripe but a bit disjointed in the mouth, with blackberry and fig flavors carrying a heavy load of nutty oak, as well as some spiky acidity. Finishes with firm, slightly drying tannins. There's something a bit advanced here, which makes it hard to predict a positive evolution for this wine.
