Bright and appealing for its pear and apple fruit. Finishes with a touch of spice and floral character. The texture expand nicely as the flavors go on and on. Drink now through 2004.
Cold Creek, which is actually quite a warm site in the Columbia Valley, mixes a crisp, acid-driven backbone with tightly tropical flavors of pineapple and mango. In the middle is a streak of fat butterscotch, leading to a silky finish.
Lively, generous, round and spicy, with nectarine, grapefruit and hints of caramel as the flavors linger appealingly. Drink now through 2009.
Vibrant and juicy Chardonnay, beautifully focused to show off its creamy pear, tangy citrus and generous pineapple aromas and flavors, which linger effortlessly on the impeccably balanced finish. Drink now through 2007.
Ripe apple and pear, so characteristic of Cold Creek, are abundantly evident. Rich fruit aromas lead into apple and creamy pear flavors, all framed by buttery oak. The finish is full-bodied and smooth.
Winemaker Bob Bertheau lays back on the new oak and gives this great vineyard its due. A classic spine of juicy acid, with ripe - but not fat - citrus and apricot flavors. Long, balanced and tightly focused.
Displaying a more demure, lightly fruity bouquet, the medium-bodied, well-focused 1999 Chardonnay Cold Creek Vineyard offers minerals, pears, and stone-like flavors in its broad, ample personality. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
Wine Tasting Notes This Cold Creek Chardonnay shows off the power and depth that typifies the vineyard. Fruit flavors of baked apples and lemon meringue open this wine. We used a slightly higher percentage of new oak because it gives this wine nicely integrated smoke and toast flavors on the finish. The structure and acidity insure a long life for those who choose to set down their Chardonnays a few years.
