Great as a "unique" apertif or as a dessert wine that no one will place correctly ! This is not really a "wine" in the traditional sense, rather a fresh asian fruit, pit and all, extracted with spirits. That aside, medium to high alcohol combines with high inert sugars and a palate of tart cherries, citrus and a bit of prune. Pairs very well with various chocolates and cheesecake. Used in cooking with fresh fruit and nutmeg it makes a fantastic compote as well. Very different and a must-try.

Winemaker's Notes:

Special plum wine mainly for USA.

More like a liqueur, this traditional "umeshu" from Japan is a sweet wine best served chilled. Honey adds depth to the sweetness, and the bottle is lovely with real pickled plums inside.
