What to Expect

Carmenère is one of a small group of wines that thrives in its adopted land but struggles to gain acceptance at home. It still is used on occasion in France's Bordeaux region where it adds color and complexity to blends with its distinctive mélange of smoky, herbal and gamy tones. In South America, particularly Chile, it ripens fully and the wines take on added layers of dark berry fruit that gives it a balance rarely achieved in France.

Reviews

This is a hearty, dark red wine that's made from the Carménère grape variety. It's aged in oak for a short period of time just to give a little spice on the palate. An excellent choice for anything barbecued or meat-based.
