Chono Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2013

Member Review by Diane Letulle:

The wine is dark ruby with slight browning.  The nose is slightly jammy with raspberries and blackberries, good advanced notice for the nice depth of fruit on the palate, where pleasing blackberry predominates followed by some pepper and earthiness. Compared with the other value Chilean Cabernet Sauvignons, this Cab has big tannins and high acid.

Unfiltered wine. Aged in French & American oak for 10 months. My palate favors wines from this region (Maipo Valley) of Chile.

Quite a match with beef shish kebobs. This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Maipo Valley. A region well-suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The Andes moderate hot days and keep nights cool. Full-bodied with a vibrant blackberry and smoke palate.
