Bought it on a whim, hmmm chocolate (I like) wine (I like) so you put them together and they spell very good. On first drink, it reminds me of one of those chocolate covered cherries, not quite so sweet but the flavors of the chocolate and the red wine are two separate tastes combined into one flavorful wine. Not for everyday but for that chocolate occasion. Nice
tastes like kahlua! doesn't taste like wine, and i am surprised i don't hate it-- it smells gross but the taste is nice and the finish doesn't burn like a liqueor would. not for every palate....
This isn't a wine I'd want just every day, but it's a neat enough novelty, and will definitely cure a sweet tooth (especially when you go a step even sweeter, and try the RASPBERRY chocolate wine variety!). Definitely a girly, dessert-type, fun drink. Lots of people make the Bailey's comparison, but I (especially with the fruitier raspberry variety) was reminded of the South African cream liquer, Amarula.
Was pleasantly surprised. Not quite what I expected!!! One taste and I was hooked. Found it in a grocery store in Valparaiso, Indiana, of all places. Of course when I went back I found out that they only ordered one case and they were sold out. If I'd only known!!!!! Smooth, potent, tasty.. Would get it again in a heartbeat. Only next time I'll buy as much as the wallet can afford. Great dessert wine
Winemaker's Notes:
ChocoVine is a fine French Cabernet subtly combined with a rich dark chocolate from Holland, paired together to make a decadent, silky smooth drink. It can be served on the rocks or as the main ingredient to an array of sinful cocktails.
