From one of the very finest vineyards for growing Cabernet comes this big, rich and complex wine.

The dark plum/purple-colored 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a bouquet of pure black currants, subtle wood, earth, and mineral scents. A rich, concentrated palate, plush texture, layered flavors, and outstanding purity give this wine a symmetrical, harmonious feel. The well-integrated acidity and tannin result in a seamless effort that is just short of being outstanding. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.

A lush and forward style, this ripe wine tastes of black plums and macerated cherries. itrsquo;s smoky, jammy and ready for a grilled veal chop.

Sleek and elegant, with ripe and spicy cherry, wild berry and strawberry flavors. Turns supple and polished on the finish. Best from 2000 through 2007.

The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap exhibits a medium deep ruby color along with a pretty nose of red and black currants, spice, and cedar. Medium-bodied, subtle, clean flavors of earth and wood are also present. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

This award-winning Cabernet producer may very well have turned out its best effort to date with this 1996 vintage! Itrsquo;s authoritatively rich with lush currant and cherry, and layers of spice and vanillin oak on the finish. This wine has the approachability to drink now, but also has all the structure needed for long-term aging, where further nuances will be sure to emerge.
