Chevalier Montrachet Bernard Moreau 92-95bh 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"This is the first wine to display enough reduction to completely mask the underlying fruit. By contrast there is excellent freshness and a dynamic sense of energy to the intensely mineral-driven, refined and admirably pure medium-bodied flavors that are also blessed with plenty of palate coating dry extract while displaying strikingly good depth and length. This is already wonderfully harmonious and this should be great in time...92-95" BH 06/15 "There were just two barrels this year. It has an engaging chalky bouquet accompanied by citrus peel and Granny Smith apple scents, perhaps “stricter” than the domaine’s aforementioned grand cru. The palate is very well balanced and powerful in the mouth: citrus lemon, orange zest, a hint of nougat and coconut lending the finish more exoticism than the Bâtard-Montrachet, the finish long and persistent...92-94" WA 12/14 "Pale yellow. Pear, ripe apple, menthol and mint on the nose. Dense, sweet and essentially gentle, showing lovely mineral lift but less power than the Batard. Quite dry and juicy on the long back end, offering spearmint and crushed stone notes and an impression of dusty tannins...92" Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media 09/15
