User Reviews for Chevalier de Lascombes Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux
Add your reviewDeep ruby with paler rims. Medium and developing nose of black cherry and liquorice. Medium in acidity, tannin and palate intensity, exhibiting blackberry, liquorice and smoke flavors. Medium+ body and medium length. Acceptable quality, suitable to drink now but can develop further.
This is the 2nd wine of the premier cuvee Chateau de Lascombes. Tried this side by side with the Chateau de Lascombes '04 with friends. This one seemed more rounded out, which is no surprise since it is 2 yrs older. It had tastes of sour cherries, leather, but kind of heavy on the oak. Also, put side by side with its premier cuvee, this finished a lot less shorter than its 'daddy'. This is supposed to have more merlot than the daddy, but this somehow tasted less fruity to me.... hmmm. Really liked it though, and it was fun putting them both side by side.

55% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 5% cabernet franc, and 5% petit verdot. Lascombes' second wine. Dark ruby color through to the rim. The petit verdot shows though with some green edges on the nose, but is buoyed by red fruit and a touch of camphor... Alex Lallos. Winemaker's Notes:
*Chevalier de Lascombes*, the second wine of cht. Lascombes, enjoys many of the same attributes of the famous Grand Cru Classe, but is more fruit forward and supple and will be delicious for at least 5 to 10 years. At less than half the price of the Grand Cru it is an outstanding bargain and is a *"must buy".**We will notify you on arrival Summer 2014*
